Professional Certificate in UI/UX Design
Overview
In today’s digital landscape, employers across industries are looking for innovators and creative thinkers with the skills to transform businesses through imaginative interfaces and engaging user experiences.
You will be train on the necessary skills to enter the exciting fields of user interface (UI) design, user experience (UX) research, and product management.
Throughout the program, you will be learn how to employ user-centric design and a wealth of creative tools to build engaging designs and user experiences. You will also walk out with an impressive professional portfolio and the confidence you need to succeed as a UX or UI professional.
- Gather useful information about users and activities through asking, looking, learning, and trying
- Organize information about users into useful summaries with affinity diagrams
- Convey user research findings with personas and scenarios
- Learn and appreciate the skill of sketching as a process for user experience design
- Learn to give and accept critiques of design ideas in a constructive manner
- Demonstrate skills for low-fidelity & high-fidelity prototyping and describe the strengths and weaknesses of a variety of prototyping methods
- Appreciate the process of user experience design as a cyclical, iterative process
- Understand the differences between usability and user experience
- Analyze an interaction design problem and propose a user-centered process, justifying the process and identifying the trade-offs
- Prepare high quality, professional documentation and artifacts relating to the design process for preparation for a professional portfolio
Tests/examinations/assignments must be written/submitted at the time specified. Requests for adjustments to that schedule must be made before the test/exam/assignment date to the faculty member. Failure to do so will result in a mark of “0”, unless an illness/emergency can be proven with appropriate documentation at no cost to the Academy.
The passing grade for all courses is 50%, or letter grade of P (Pass) or S (Satisfactory) unless otherwise noted below. The passing weighted average for promotion through each semester of a program is 60% and is a requirement to graduate.

Syllabuses
DAY-1
Module 1: Introduction to Graphics Tools
Objective
- To identify what type of graphic design tools can be used for UI UX Design. Participants will learn:
- What is Graphic Design
- What are the tools used for Graphic Design
- How we can use graphics tools to create a high fidelity prototype
Outcome
- Participants will learn how to use Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator to create a prototype
Module 2: User Experience Design Fundamentals(Day 2&3)
Objective
- To learn how to carry out user research, map user journeys, run usability and A/B testing, track conversions and more. The Participants able to learn on how to:
- understand User Experience design process
- differentiate between UX and UI
- carrying out user research and reporting findings
- mapping user journeys and experience maps
- creating information architecture using card sorting
- review of the best accessibility practices
- usability testing remotely & in person
- A/B testing

Modul 3: User Interface Design Fundamentals
(DAY 4&5)
Objective
- To learn the basic User Interface design principles, how to make your UI responsive and accessible; create an icon font and a style guide, and more. The Participants able to learn how to:
- Apply UI design principles & process
- Using the typography and importance of content design, Accessibility, Iconography and Graphics
- Create layout using responsive grid
- Apply styling and design systems

- Participants will understand how to apply the design principles into their UI UX Design by using the design process
Module 4: Wireframing & Rapid Prototyping
Day 6&7
Objective
- One of the most important part in UI UX. Learn how to use more than one tools for wireframing and prototyping. At this workshop, you will create an interactive prototype of a mobile website using Adobe Photoshop and Adobe XD. The Participants able to learn how to:
- Structuring content
- Creating layout in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe XD
- Embedding fonts, icons and graphics
- Prototyping interactions
- Testing on a real device
- Review of UI design tools

- Participants will learn more in depth using the wireframing tool, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe XD for design the wireframe and Prototype
Module 5: Prototyping Responsive UI in browser
(DAY-8)
Objective
- Learn the essential in-browser prototyping skills for web & mobile. How to design products, which can be implemented efficiently, and speak the same language with developers.
Outcome
- Participants should able to create a live application on the web as full-fledged visual prototypes by apply all of the knowledge they acquire during the workshop.
Final Project
Objective
- Participants will work in small groups to leverage the software skills, and techniques they learned throughout the course in this final project to display what they have achieved.
